a little about me...

I'm a woman on a beautiful, messy, humbling, and ever-evolving journey of remembering who she is.
And the more I live, the more I realize that perhaps one of my greatest purposes in this lifetime is to help others remember who they are, too. To shine a light on their gifts. To celebrate what makes them uniquely themselves. To remind them that there is something extraordinary about being human, and that each of us has our own beautiful way of experiencing, exploring, and creating in this world.
I've been a teacher for as long as I can remember. I started assisting dance classes at 12 years old in Cincinnati, Ohio. By 16, I was teaching professionally, and at 21, I opened my own dance studio in Colorado. For the next 16 years, I built a life around movement, choreography, entrepreneurship, and teaching, including a decade of traveling internationally as a master teacher.
But life has a way of becoming our greatest teacher, doesn't it?
And somewhere along the way, the life I had built and the identity I had known began to change.
What followed was a deeply personal journey of loss, healing, questioning, unraveling, and slowly finding my way home to myself. My curiosity and love for learning led me into life coaching, spirituality, mysticism, Reiki mastery, intuitive channeling, and trauma-informed somatic and embodiment work.
But I can tell you this:
My greatest education has been my own life.
The heartbreaks. The beautiful beginnings. The endings I never saw coming. The years of searching outside myself for answers, only to discover that so much of the wisdom I was seeking had been quietly waiting within me. I've learned that there is a difference between knowing something intellectually and actually living it. Between teaching a concept and having that wisdom become part of who you are.
And today, I teach from a very different place. Not because I have everything figured out. Not because I've arrived somewhere or mastered the human experience.
I don't claim to be a guru. I'm a sister on the path. A woman who has lived, stumbled, questioned, loved, lost, begun again, and gathered some beautiful wisdom along the way.
Some people call me their spiritual hype girl, and I love that. Because I've always had this deep love for seeing the light in others, sometimes before they can see it in themselves.
Today, everything I offer is an integration of what I've studied, what I've practiced, and most importantly, what I've lived. And that's exactly why I created The Spiritual Shitshow Podcast. Because spirituality isn't always pretty, healing isn't always graceful, and being human can be one beautiful, unpredictable ride. I wanted a space for honest conversations, deep wisdom, laughter, and the messy magic of it all.
It's also why I host pop-up experiences that bring together dance, movement, meditation, somatic practices, sound baths, and sound healing. I offer intuitive sessions, coaching, and gatherings that invite people to reconnect with themselves and each other.
Honestly, I love bringing a little light wherever it's needed. Whether that's through a conversation, a channeled message, a room full of women dancing, or simply holding space for someone to remember their own magic.
I'm learning to say YES to all of it....To the creativity. The curiosity. The unexpected invitations. The joy of allowing all the parts of myself to come together rather than trying to fit into one title or one way of being. Because life is meant to be lived.
I create spaces where spirituality and humanity get to exist together. Where we can be wise and messy, sacred and silly, healing and fully living. Because I no longer believe the purpose of this journey is to become some perfected, enlightened version of ourselves. I believe it's to become more deeply, honestly, and lovingly ourselves.
And if my experiences, my teachings, or simply walking beside you can help illuminate something beautiful within you, then I consider that a life very well lived.
I'm still remembering, too.
And maybe that's the most beautiful part of all.
I can't wait to connect, create, and work with you.
With love,
Julie 🤍
